NewTutor is an online platform operated by Jupiter Castle Unipessoal LDA, offering educational content and courses to help you become a tutor.
By using this website and purchasing and/or accessing content, you agree to be bound by these Terms together with our Privacy Policy. If you don't accept them, please do not use our services.

2. Service Description
2.1. Overview
NewTutor is an online education platform operated by Jupiter Castle Unipessoal LDA that provides professional development courses for aspiring and current tutors. Our initial offering, "How to become a tutor", delivers a comprehensive, self-paced, step-by-step roadmap designed to teach instructional methods, techniques, student engagement strategies, lesson planning, pricing, and marketing based on the instructor's practical experience.
2.2. Core Features
- Video Lessons: Modular, on-demand videos.
- Progress Tracking and Certification: Automated milestone tracking with a certificate of completion upon course fulfillment.
- Community Access: Private discussion forums and periodic Q&A sessions with an experienced tutor.
3. Accounts
3.1. Account Registration
You need to have an account to do most of the activities on the website, including purchasing and accessing content.
You may register via:
- Email Passcode: We send a single-use code to your email (valid 10 minutes).
- Google Authentication: One-click sign-on.
All logins occur over encrypted channels. You must be 18+ and provide accurate information. Each email may register only one account. We may request further age or identity verification if needed.
3.2. Lawful Use
You must not access or utilize NewTutor, nor register an account, for any unlawful purpose. All activities and conduct on our platform must adhere to the laws and regulations applicable in the European Union. It is your sole responsibility to be aware of and comply with any local, national, or international legal requirements that govern your use of NewTutor.
3.3. Account Responsibilities
When creating your account, you agree to the following:
- Accurate information: You must provide and continually maintain accurate and complete information, including a current, valid email address, throughout your use of the Service.
- Account responsibility: You bear full responsibility for all activity on your account. This includes any losses or damages (to us or third parties) resulting from unauthorized use of your account.
- Non-transferability: Your account and the content you have purchased are personal to you. You may not assign, transfer, or otherwise convey your account and/or content to anyone, nor use another person's account as per clause 9.2.
3.4. Account Violations
In case of breach, we reserve the right to block your account permanently without reimbursement whatsoever, and to take further legal action.
3.5. Verification for Access Request
If you request access to an account, we will grant it only upon receipt of sufficient evidence to establish that you are the legitimate owner.
3.6. Account Closure Upon Death
If a user dies, that user's account will be closed.
3.7. Age Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old to register for an account or use the Services. If you are under 18 but have reached the minimum age for online consent in your jurisdiction, you may not open an account yourself, but you may ask a parent or guardian to create an account on your behalf and help you access appropriate content. If you are below the age of consent for online services where you live, you may not create an account or use the Services under any circumstances, even with parental or guardian assistance.
3.8. Violation Consequences
If we learn that an account was created in violation of these requirements, we will terminate it, and you hereby waive any right to refunds or reimbursements for content purchased through the Services.
3.9. Account Deletion
You can delete your account any time in "Edit Profile" → "Actions" → "Delete Account." All information associated with the account, including any purchased content, will be permanently deleted according to the Privacy Policy after you click the delete account button. You will receive an email confirming that your account will be deleted. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be recovered.
4. Purchase & Payment Process
4.1. Payment Processor
We use Stripe to process payments securely and in compliance with Portuguese and EU banking regulations. Jupiter Castle Unipessoal LDA never stores sensitive card details.
4.2. Payment Requirements
Full payment is required upfront to access content.
4.3. Payment Validity
You represent and warrant that you will not use any invalid, expired, or unauthorized payment method. In the event that your payment fails, but you nonetheless obtain access to the purchased content, you agree to remit the full amount due within thirty (30) days of our notice. NewTutor reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to any content for which payment has not been received in full.
4.4. Payment Methods
All course purchases are processed as one‑time payments. We accept major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Payment transactions are handled securely by Stripe, Inc., a PCI DSS–compliant payment processor. Your full card details are never stored on NewTutor's servers; Stripe encrypts and stores all sensitive payment information in accordance with industry standards and applicable data‑protection laws.
4.5. Validation and Execution
Payments are validated in real time. If an initial attempt fails, our system retries for up to 24 hours. Upon successful payment, you'll receive an email confirmation and immediate access.
4.6. Pricing
The price you pay for any content shall be the price in effect at the moment you complete your purchase (i.e., at checkout).
4.7. Invoices
Invoices are issued within 24 business hours of payment to your email address provided upon account registration. If you have not received yours, please check your spam or contact [email protected].
5. Refunds
5.1. Exclusion of the Right of Withdrawal
Under Article 17(a) of Decree‑Law No. 24/2014, the right of withdrawal does not apply to services that have been fully performed, with the consumer's prior express consent, before the end of the 14‑day withdrawal period. In the case of our service:
- The service is executed immediately upon payment authorization by granting access to the course.
- This immediate execution is carried out with the user's express consent.
- The service is deemed fully performed at the moment the access to the course is granted.
5.2. Express and Informed Consent
During checkout ("Complete Purchase"), the user must give express consent by acknowledging the following statement:
"I acknowledge that by purchasing the course, the service begins immediately and I therefore lose my right of withdrawal under Article 17(a) of Decree‑Law No. 24/2014."
5.3. No‑Refund Policy
Given that:
- The service is performed immediately after payment.
- The course is available instantly.
- The user is fully informed and expressly consents to these terms.
Purchased course is non‑refundable, whether used or unused, except in the following exceptional cases:
- A technical error in payment processing that results in a duplicate charge.
- A systemic failure that completely prevents access to the purchased course.
- Other situations expressly provided by law that cannot be contractually excluded.
5.4. Completion of the Service
For all legal and contractual purposes, the service is considered complete when:
- Payment is successfully authorized.
- The course is available on the user's account.
- A confirmation email is sent.
5.5. Legal Basis
This policy complies with:
- Decree‑Law No. 24/2014, Article 17(a).
- Consumer Protection Law No. 24/96.
- Other applicable Portuguese e‑commerce legislation.
By proceeding with the purchase after being properly informed of these conditions, the user expressly waives the right of withdrawal and may not later request a refund of the course acquired.
6. Gifts and Promotional Vouchers
From time to time NewTutor may issue gift or promotional vouchers to users. Some vouchers can be applied towards the purchase of eligible content on our website, in accordance with the specific terms associated with each voucher.
All vouchers, gifts, and any promotional value they carry will expire if not redeemed by the date indicated in your NewTutor account and/or vouchers or gifts themselves. Vouchers and gifts provided directly by NewTutor are non-refundable for cash.
7. User Rights and Obligations
7.1. Your Rights
- Use platform features per your purchases.
- Technical support Mon–Fri, 10:00–16:00 (excluding public holidays), within 48 business hours.
7.2. Your Obligations
- Provide truthful, up-to-date information and protect your email access.
- Use the service lawfully; no illicit uses or reverse engineering.
- Respect intellectual property rights.
Failure to comply may result in account suspension or termination without refund.
8. Availability and Maintenance
8.1. Service Availability
While we strive to keep NewTutor running smoothly, there may be times when the platform is unavailable, whether for scheduled maintenance, unexpected outages, or issues beyond our control (for example, third-party service failures, security incidents, or errors). You acknowledge and agree that in such situations, you will have no claim against NewTutor or its instructors, partners, or agents.
8.2. Service Disclaimers
Accordingly, the Services and all content are offered strictly "as is" and "as available." NewTutor and its instructors, partners, and agents make no warranties or guarantees—express, implied, statutory, or otherwise—regarding:
- Suitability or fitness for any particular purpose,
- Reliability, availability, or timeliness,
- Security or freedom from errors,
- Accuracy or completeness of the content, or
- Results you may achieve through use of NewTutor.
8.3. Warranty Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including those of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. Your use of NewTutor (and any reliance on their content) is entirely at your own risk. If your jurisdiction does not permit the exclusion of certain implied warranties, those provisions may not apply to you.
8.4. Service Modifications
NewTutor.net reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of NewTutor services at any time, for any reason, without liability. Furthermore, we are not liable for delays, failures, or interruptions caused by events outside our reasonable control—such as acts of war, natural disasters, widespread power or network outages, or governmental restrictions.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1. Ownership
All content available through NewTutor, including but not limited to the course content, videos, downloadable materials, and course curricula, is the exclusive property of Jupiter Castle Unipessoal LDA and is protected by Portuguese and international copyright and other intellectual property laws.
9.2. License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of any applicable fees, Jupiter Castle Unipessoal LDA grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and view course materials solely for your personal, non-commercial educational use. This license does not include the right to:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly perform or display, sell, rent, sublicense, or otherwise exploit any portion of the platform or its content;
- Modify or create derivative works based on the platform or its content;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any software or code comprising the platform;
- Use the platform to develop a competing product or service.
9.3. Copyright Infringement
If you believe that any content on our platform infringes your copyright, please notify our Designated Agent in writing at:
Your notice must include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the infringing material and its location.
- Your contact information.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the disputed use is not authorized.
We will respond in accordance with applicable law, including removal of infringing material and potential termination of repeat infringers.
9.4. Survival
The provisions of this Section 9 shall survive any termination or expiration of these Terms.
10. Disclaimer
The content, strategies, and practices presented in any NewTutor.net course are based solely on the personal experience and opinion of the instructor. What has worked for the instructor may not work for you. The course is provided for informational and educational purposes only and is intended to serve as a guideline that you may choose to implement in your own tutoring practice.
NewTutor.net and Jupiter Castle Unipessoal LDA make no guarantees, express or implied, regarding the effectiveness of any methods taught, your ability to achieve specific results (including income or client growth), or the accuracy or completeness of the course materials. You assume all risk for any actions you take (or choose not to take) based on the content of the course.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NewTutor.net and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost revenue, or unrealized gains, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use the course materials or any reliance on their content.
11. Dispute Resolution
You may use the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform or local consumer arbitration centers. Details at our "Dispute Resolution" page.

13. Final Provisions
13.1. Amendments
We may update these terms; significant changes are emailed with 30 days' notice.
13.2. Data Protection
Data handling follows our Privacy Policy.
13.3. Governing Law
Portuguese law applies, including Decree-Law No. 24/2014, Consumer Protection Law No. 24/96, and the GDPR.
13.4. Severability
If any term is invalid, the rest remain in effect.
