Adapting communication style

In this video we're going to talk about one of the most powerful skills a tutor can develop: the ability to adapt your communication style.

Every student who comes to you is unique. They have different learning needs, different personalities, and different ways of expressing themselves. A one-size-fits-all approach to communication simply doesn’t work. The key to students' potential often lies in understanding their natural style and adjusting your own to meet them where they are.

In this lesson, we’re going to explore the common communication styles you will face in your tutoring career. 

This isn't about labeling people. It's about developing empathy and strategy. I’ll share my personal approach to dealing with each communication style. You’ll learn how to create a safe space that encourages a hesitant student to speak up, how to calmly and productively guide a more forceful personality, and how to gently address inconsistencies to get to the root of a problem.
