Tutor Overview
Essential hardware
Starting out as an online tutor is both incredibly exciting and a little overwhelming. i propose to start with the basics, and talk about the space and the tools you'll use to connect with your students.
In offline tutoring, the space around you is very important. Not only should it be comfortable for you, but it should also accommodate your students. In online tutoring, the entire tutoring experience happens through a screen. Clear communication is everything. If a student can't hear you due to distracting background noise or if they can't see your expressions clearly, the quality of the lesson can suffer before it even begins. Same goes for camera; if your student can't see you, a lot of engagement is lost on the way.
When I started tutoring, I remember feeling a bit lost trying to figure out what I really needed to get started and what good products to buy. That's why, in this lesson, I won't just tell you what you really need; I'll also share links to the exact, verified equipment that I personally use and trust in my own tutoring sessions. So, you don't need to guess, research, or experiment.
We'll cut through the confusion and focus on the absolute essentials. I'll walk you through the core pieces of hardware you need to start tutoring online with confidence.
