Assessment Techniques

Assessments in a traditional classroom and in tutoring are different. We will define what an assessment technique truly is. In this lesson, I want to discuss with you effective assessment techniques I have personally used for many years.

We are going to talk about diagnostic technique, formative assessment, a concept previously touched upon in the course. The beauty of formative assessment and criterion-referenced assessment. While similar to formative assessment, the criterion-referenced assessment has a distinct purpose: to determine if a student has met specific learning objectives.

The discussion then shifts to adaptive learning, an  approach that personalizes the learning experience, often powered by technology. This method allows students to learn at their own pace, making it an excellent supplementary tool.

Finally, we explore performance-based assessment, which focuses on a student's ability to apply what they've learned in practical, real-world situations. The lesson concludes by highlighting that in tutoring, assessment should be seamless and enjoyable, creating and promoting love for learning rather than feeling like a traditional test. You'll also get tips on where to find or create materials for these assessments.
